Farrah Fawcett was perhaps the most popular pinup queen of the 1970s. A star of the TV series "Charlie's Angels," Fawcett had a megawatt smile and cascade of blonde hair that catapulted her into superstardom and inspired millions of adolescent fantasies. Teenagers of all stripes adorned their walls with this poster, and millions of young women emulated the now-popular hairstyle. Fawcett was a full-time Angel only during the 1976 debut season, but her popular image resulted in record merchandising: she sold six million posters, untold numbers of Farrah Fawcett dolls, toys, games, and even the aptly named "Farrah faucet." She had already appeared in Wella Balsam shampoo ads and several movies, and had guest-starred on such television programs as "Harry O." Released with the launching of "Charlie's Angels" in 1976, this poster was part of a massive merchandising campaign that also included mugs, key chains, and numerous other objects.
