Like many of K.A. Abbas' films, Do Boond Pani (1971) was ahead of its times, looking at the environmental issue of the scarcity of water. Starring Simi Garewal, Jalal Agha, Kiran Kumar and Madhu Chanda in the lead roles, the film was set in Rajasthan, where the lack of adequate water supply leads to the building of a dam. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature film on National Integration.
