Pot

DJ/DA02855. This is a pot that was shaped on a potter’s wheel and was made with light brown clay and midsized tempers. The base is slightly convex and the body globular in shape. The neck is small and concave with the rim parted by a longitudinal groove. This sort of rim is characteristic, and is also found in the last levels of the Andalusi site of Pechina (Almería). The two ribbon handles are lenticular in section. They begin at the rim and, after a slight turn upwards, bend downwards and attach to the belly of the pot. The clay has black stains, probably due to direct exposure to fire (Salvatierra 1995; Salvatierra and Castillo 1993).
