Just as General Electric supplied turbine propulsion equipment to the first U.S.S Saratoga thirty years ago, G-E geared turbines provide power for the Navy's new Saratoga, shown above. The giant aircraft carrier will also rely on G-E silicone rubber insulated power and control cables which maintain electric power even in the event of a severe fire.
