These prefabricated British Iron and Steel Federation steel-framed houses were built by John Laing and Son Ltd in the Pinehurst estate of Swindon. Pinehurst was Swindon's first Corporation housing estate. It was planned by Sir Raymond Unwin just after the First World War but was not completed until after the Second World War.
