Introduced in the United States in late 1979 by Midway, Namco's Galaxian arcade game was a direct result or rebuttal of the success of Taito's Space Invaders, introduced a year before. The game proved very popular in the US and soon prompted a Post cereal premium in the form of a board game interpretation of Galaxian's game play. The game board is also marked for Coleco, which brought out a tabletop mini arcade version of Galaxion. The premium also serves as an instant win game card, with a rub-off spot. The potential prize was a Coleco mini arcade game.
