Preparatory drawing for "The Assumption of the Virgin" in the parish church of Mormoiron (Vaucluse); studies of arms, feet, and drapery. Nicolas Mignard (Troyes 1606 - Paris 1668), known as Mignard d'Avignon, is distinct from his brother Pierre Mignard (Troyes 1612 - Paris 1695), known as Le Romain. He stayed in Rome with Poussin in the company of Reynaud Levieux before settling in Avignon.
