Presepio

The Star called “the star of Bethlehem” to inform the birth of Christ is decorated Chrismas tree. The Magi felt the birth of Christ from shine of this star, they were audience with the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus Christ was born in stables of Bethlehem. At that time, The Magi gave the treasure that symbolizes the Christ respectively. Melchior gave gold to symbolize the king to Christ, Balthazar gave frankincense symbolizes the God to Christ, and Caspar gave myrrh to symbolize Passion and rivival to Christ.
　The day that the magi met the infant Jesus Christ is called Epifania. In the Christmas period from December 24 until January 7 of the next day of Epifania, European people celebrate the birth of Christ by decorating the figures representing the birth scene of Christ called Presepio. From the 13th century in Italy, people performed ritual that representation of the birth scene of Christ in Christmas night by St. Francis. This has been the origin of Presepio.
