This is a nineteenth century image of the main building of Presidency University (erstwhile Presidency College). The main building was inaugurated by Lord Northbrook, the then Viceroy of India, on 31 March 1874. It was constructed in the neo-classical style. This image was taken sometime between March 1874 and September 1875 because the turret clock, which started working from 11 September 1875, cannot be seen on the top of the main building.
