President Ford's first letter to PRC Chairman Mao-Tse-Tung.

Ford begins the letter in a spirit of cooperation and continuity: " As one of my first acts as the President of the United States, I wish to reaffirm the basic continuity of American foreign policy in general and our policy toward the People's Republic of China in particular."
