Excitement grew during January as preliminary results emerged from the recent successful proton-antiproton collision run at the SPS. It culminated in two packed sessions in the Main Auditorium on 20 and 21 January when the big UA1 and UA2 collaborations described how they unearthed a handful of events suggestive of the long sought carriers of the weak force.
