We had previously informed our readers that the cash stored at the Ottoman Bank had been transferred to the new office on Saturday. The amount in gold transferred on the said day exceeded one million and a half Ottoman liras and represented a weight of approximately thirteen tons or ten thousand one hundred and forty old okes. Cars from the Streetcar Company have been used for the transfer of this sum, together with other coins, banknotes and bonds. The transfer of the remaining banknotes was completed by Saturday, and on Sunday half a million in silver Mecidiye coins were transported and stored in the cellars of the new office. While the transfer of the bank's cash and other valuables has been entrusted to Monsieur Charles Holmes, their reception into the new office was supervised by the chief cashier Monsieur Beauvais.
