"The Compasso d'Oro 1964" was awarded to architect Marco Zanuso and his collaborator Richard Sapper for the design of the polyethylene chair for kindergartens and elementary schools. The first chair made entirely of plastic, it is an example of precise exploitation of the industrial possibilities of the material.
