A hand-coloured lithograph by J.N. Fitch of 'Primula anisodora' collected by plant hunter George Forrest in China and grown by J.C. Williams at Caerhays Castle in Cornwall. Used in 1918 to illustrate 'Curtis's Botanical Magazine' introducing 'New & rare plants from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew & other botanical establishments', edited by Sir David Prain, Director. This copy belonged to J.C. Williams and was given to Forrest. From an archive of books, magazines and illustrations formerly in the library of George Forrest.
