Prince Charles's first Royal Duty, Palace of Holyroodhouse

At the age of 16 - while still at school - Prince Charles undertook his first public engagement. He met hundreds of young people at a garden party given for young Scottish and Commonwealth students at The Queen’s official residence in Scotland (the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh) and can be seen here greeting a Girl Guide.
