Portrait of Dona Francisca, princess of Joinville, sister of D. Pedro II. Half-body young woman, sitting on sort of burgundy recamier. Thin face, turned to the left. Blue eyes, small nose and mouth. Light, straight hair, split in half, covering the ears and adorned with white flowers tinted with lilac. Long, gray dress, low-cut and sleeveless, showing shoulders and arms, the latter on the lap. Gold bracelet and stones on the left arm wrist. Pink stone ring and wedding ring, on the ring and little fingers of the left hand, supported on the right. Wrapping the skirt, green robe with printed bar with S-shaped motifs, in pink, yellow and green. Sepia toned background. On the left, ocher curtain detail and on the right, pilaster. Author's signature in the lower right corner, in golden characters: "R. Asel". Cardboard frame, lined with beige silk, covered with intertwined gold thread sutaches. In the inner opening, baguette in golden wood.
