Colour print from an 1867 edition of the "Illustrated Sydney News", showing a cricket match. In the foreground, a group of spectators stand between two large trees which frame the composition. In the centre is a side-on view of the pitch, showing the batsmen, fielders and umpires (who appear to be carrying umbrellas / parasols). On the furthest side of the ground is a grandstand from which 12 flags are flying, and to the left is a marquee. Beyond the stand is a row of houses. In the bottom-left is the artist's initials "F.C.T.", and below the image, a caption reads "THE ANNUAL CRICKET MATCH BETWEEN THE ELEVENS OF VICTORIA AND NEW SOUTH WALES, - [SEE PAGE 103.]". The print is loosely mounted behind a piece of yellow card.
