Poster designed in 1970 by African American artist Kofi Bailey for the Voter Education Project, a civil rights initiative administered by the Southern Regional Council in Atlanta, Georgia. The poster shows a drawing of two hands, one picking a boll of cotton and, below, a second placing a paper ballot into a box. The poster reads, "Hands that pick cotton...now can pick our public officials."
