Lieutenant Colonel Gonin commanded 11th Light Field Ambulance, when it arrived at Bergen-Belsen camp shortly after liberation. In this account of the camp, Lt Col Gonin describes the illnesses suffered by former inmates of the camps, and the work of the British relief force to assist them.

Ts account (11pp written 1945 - 1946) of the liberation and relief operation in Belsen concentration camp, April 1945, at which he commanded 11th Light Field Ambulance (6th Guards Armoured Brigade). He describes vividly the scenes in the camp, the illnesses (and their origins) and the heroic deeds of the British relief force.
