Programme for the 1963 Gala reopening of the Theatre

The re-opening of the restored Georgian Theatre Royal was celebrated with a gala performance on 5th May 1963. The programme included music by Handel and Haydn as well as performances of extracts from Congreve’s The Way of the World and the seduction scene from Tartuffe by Moliere.
