This advertisement is in the form of a projector slide, and amongst others in the short series, was used at local cinemas. It promotes the hatter's H. Rumsey Wells, 4 St. Andrew's Street, Norwich. The business was established in 1815. Herbery Rumsey Wells took over the business from his father in the 1870s, and as an unashamed self publicist, he boasted that he sold the most expensive caps in the world. He provided the Edwardian jet set with hats to match their leisurely lifestyles. His famous doggie caps were snapped up by keen new motorists. Golfers, sailors and cyclists were also well catered for. His shop stocked school caps, club badges, military head wear and regimental ribbons. His hats were often named after places in Norfolk, like The Plumstead, The Blofield and The Wroxham. Herbert died in 1937 but the business continued to trade until 1974. The premises is now 'The Rumsey Wells' pub.
