The President Woodrow Wilson House
Washington, DC, United States

Shortly after the Wilsons moved into “Prospect,” Ellen Wilson began to redesign the gardens. It was a creative passion in which she engaged at most of her homes, including the White House where she established the Rose Garden. This image reflects Eleanor Wilson McAdoo’s description of the “Prospect” garden with a pool, cypresses, and “a riot of bloom.”
