"Prospect Park Red Oak - After Sandy" was cast (molded) using recycled, handmade paper directly from the bark of a large red oak that fell in Prospect Park during Hurricane Sandy. The work memorializes this tree and the living world. If it wasn't for global warming due to the human release of too much carbon into the atmosphere, this devastating storm would not have happened and this tree along with thousands of others in NYC would still be alive.
