  • Notes: Note provided by John Mercer June-July 2021:;"There was a good contingent of people from Hamilton and the Waikato who had travelled to Auckland to protest the Tour, the 3rd Test and apartheid. And as I was able to see later from my images, particularly around Marlborough St/Walters Road/Onslow Road, Patu Squad had a strong Hamilton representation, including friends, neighbours and even our flatmate/boarder. Only after the day viewing proof sheets and test prints that realisation dawned that I had photographed people well known to me without recognising them in the turmoil and heat of the actions of the day.";"NB: frames #64-#72 and #80 & #82 of Film #8 (38B-23A)"
