The tapestry is part of the series of five pieces with the Stories of Psyche, ordered in 1748 by Philip of Bourbon. In this cloth the girl, who disobeyed the prohibition to admire the features of Love, is depicted in a barren landscape, while she watches Cupid who goes away in the sky pushed by a cloud.
