Puffed-sleeve dress, Green Gables Heritage Place

Long, rust coloured, silky dress, with two large puffs on each sleeve.

Anne did all but implore Marilla for a puffed-sleeve dress, but to no avail. Thank goodness for Matthew’s observations for Anne’s attire that “Marilla kept her in plain, dark dresses, all made after the same unvarying patter” and his generosity in eventually “pampering vanity” with gifting Anne her very own “fashionable” dress for Christmas with “crowning glory” puffed-sleeves!
