Puppet made by the artist Mykola Sapozhnikov for Ivan Kotlyarevsky's play The Aeneid, staged in the Kyiv State Puppet Theater (now the Kyiv Academic Puppet Theater) in 1984. The director was Yuri Sikalo. The Cossack theme, the Ukrainian-centric nature of the work testify to a turning point in the restoration of the traditional Ukrainian puppet theater, as well as the need to expand its repertoire. The puppet of Tsar Latin is made of braided cotton rope. By design, the puppet has a mechanized construction (gapit), which allows moving the puppet's head in different directions.
