This piece is from my painting series '2020'. In '2020', I depicted a scene that fuses manga-like female figure into a geometric, graphic narrative.
The reason I chose young girls as my main subject in the paintings. I believe the answer is an internal, narcissistic gaze. It comes from an erotic fascination for young, beautiful female, and initially was inspired by a manga story. The central core of manga is driven by male dominates. The protagonist fantasy I experienced in manga, contradicts with my initial gender. In real life, a heterosexual woman like myself, is hunted by this gaze from an internal psych-logical variation of myself, which has led me to question my gender, and to delve into the practice of animation.
