Purse with Fan

Purse: Purse of silk brocaded with leaves, and velvet; all-over pattern of aurora borealis sequins and gold metal faceted seed beads; silk cord handles act as draw string through eight round mother of pearl loops at top of purse; petal-shaped purse with four slits trimmed at interior with pleated iridescent silk taffeta; bottom of panels with single gold beaded fringe with ball at end (three missing) body of purse embroidered with gold beads in fleur de lis/scroll/meander pattern; scroll filled in with sequins; lining of iridescent taffeta.

Fan: Fan with gold/silver spangles on gauze; continuous leaf with lightweight silk plainweave applied at intervals; decorative stitching in silk thread at top and bottom; bone sticks, guards, and ribs with decorative etching and gilding; ribs painted pink on reverse; mother-of-pearl washer with brass loop at rivet.
