In 1971, brothers Fran and Bryce Patch started their own commercial printing company in Beloit, Wisconsin. They built their business by printing products for other companies, including Trivial Pursuit game boards and Cabbage Patch doll sticker books. The company built success upon success in the years following--both desigining its own successful game line and acquiring other well-known brands and/or distributorships such as Smethport Specialty Co, known for its famous Wooly Willy toys and the Lauri brand (known for soft foam toddler puzzles.)
One of Patch's early success stories was its "Puzzle Patch" series of puzzles. A large floor puzzle for toddlers, this Great Big Sneaky Puzzle is called "A Day At The Zoo." Two-sided, it features all of the numbers and letters of the alphabet hidden in one of its pictures.
