[inglês][datilografado] My dear Mr. Portinari: Dr. Valentiner has received Mrs. Portinari’s letter of May 16 and from it we are very sorry to learn that you have not received the check in payment of the painting Cattle. This check, in the amount of $500, was mailed to you on December 5, 1940, and we enclose herewith a copy of the letter which accompanied it. If the meantime the check has not turned up, we shall issue another one. Will you kindly let us have an early reply.
