Pyramid of Kukulcan

Let’s take a closer look at this large pyramid in the heart of Chichén Itzá—the Pyramid of Kukulcan. It’s about 80 feet high, not including the temple on top. Spanish settlers who discovered the ruins of Chichén Itzá called this pyramid El Castillo, or “the castle,” because of its great size.
