The Ministry of Defense order of 17 March 1942 banned wearing uniform and rank insignia by Jews. (This ban, in order to discriminate Jews, was introduced by some unit commanders already from November 1940.) On this photo taken in Budapest in December 1940, Pál Kornis is still in military uniform, exceptionally without the armband.
