QEII 1966 Christmas: Submitted design by Tasveer Shemza

Design 'A', depicting King Wenceslas. This was one of 13 designs chosen in late June 1966 by a selection panel consisting of most of the current stamp designers of the day. Selected as the first choice by the Postmaster General in late June, and subsequently approved in essay form. Formally approved by the Queen on 1 August.
