Star Chamber, Bolsover Castle

The star chamber has an impressive fireplace. The fireplace has the Talbot arms on the front. This fireplace depicts Cavendish’s familial links to the Earl of Shrewsbury. The fireplace is made of stones from the Cavendish’s estate. By using materials of this kind, Cavendish makes his claim to rival the Italian Renaissance.
