BACK TO PRE-WAR GOLF BALLS. EH/VA The merits and demerits of the war-time synthetic golf ball, have been argued hotly in the golfing world, but the problem seems to have been settled by the news that with more raw material coming to hand, pure rubber balls are once again being manufactured in quantity. They will be on the market in time for use in the big tournaments now getting underway. These interesting photographs showing how the modern pure rubber golf ball is manufactured, were taken at a famous rubber works at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. They demonstrate the care and technique which goes into the production of every single ball. Photograph shows: Lettering and numbering the finished balls. FOX PHOTOS APRIL 27th 1946. 337003
