The historic game of bowling, also called "nine-pins," and "skittles," in various different locations, dates from ancient times.The famous game producer McLoughlin Brothers, of New York, made this anthropomorphic bowling set around the turn of the 19th century. All of the pins resemble animals dressed up in human clothing. The set is complete with three wooden balls.
