This 27 foot-long painting, entitled Along the River during the Qingming Festival, was created in the late 16th or 17th century. It is a later copy of an original Song Dynasty Qingming (CHING-ming) handscroll. The entire silk scroll is made up of exquisitely detailed images depicting daily life in a bustling town and its outskirts.
