The composition of this painting and the information contained makes it unique. This joint work of the Basque José Ignacio de Lequanda and the French painter Louis Thiébaut, which was made throughout five years, is a genuine mural encyclopedia of Peru in the 18th century. A total of 195 scenes and 381 figures describe the physical geography, the history, the ethnography, the fauna and flora of the Peruvian Viceroyalty. There is no other work similar in the European colonial history.
