Queen Desideria's seal

The seal belonging to Karl XIV Johan’s wife Queen Desideria (1777-1860) is from an earlier period of their lives. They married in 1798 when she had had several unfortunate engagements behind her, and he clearly was a man on the rise. The seal was made around 1806 when her husband was appointed Prince of Pontecorvo. The achievement shows the principality’s coat of arms, a bridge and an eagle on blue background.
