Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother sat for this presentation portrait bust in the artist's studio in Fulham Road. The bust was completed in 1923 when she was still Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon and shortly before her marriage with George, Duke of York (later George VI) that same year. She is depicted with her head turned to the left, her eyes lowered, and wearing off the shoulder drapes over a modesty vest. The bust is mounted on shaped socle.
