Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother

The late Queen Mother became Patron of the RCM in 1938. She regularly visited the College, and in 1973 she was presented with the degree of Doctor of Music honoris causa. Leonard Boden (1911-99) was trained at the Glasgow School of Art and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art. His daughter, Daphne is a distinguished harpist and RCM professor.
