With wings spanning around 33 feet (10 meters), this flying reptile discovered in southwestern Texas was about the size of a two-seater plane. Quetzalcoalus northropi was named after Quetzalcoatl, a Mexican god of the air, and industrialist Jack Northrop, known for developing a stealth aircraft called the flying wing.
