Curved wood clubs or fending sticks were an essential part of the tool kit for both men and women. These all-purpose devices, often referred to as rabbit sticks, had many uses: as clubs, to push aside thorny plants, to smooth the ground, or to rake coals out of afire. This club measures 22.5 cm (8.9 inches) long.
