Museo del Duomo e Cattedrale di Fidenza

Object used for the holy Host, part of the supply of the bishop Girolamo Bajardi, bishop of Borgo San Donnino from 1753 to 1775. On the upper part, up and down the case, there are pairs of angels holding spikes and shoots with grapes, which are eucharistic symbols. Other two cherubs between the clouds are sustaining the cross, the case contains a golden lunetta for holding the host, maybe not the original. On the foot, the emblems of the bishop Bajardi and of Francesco Evangelisti (eagle with halo and a book with the initials D.F.E.). On the border, the stamp of the mint of Augsburg and the stamp E.D., indicating the atelier of the goldsmith Emanuel Abraham Drentwet; in the 1845's inventory it was indicated as part of the altar of the SS. Sacramento.
