Rama is the divine hero of the epic Ramayana, which means the story of Rama. Sita is his beloved, the representation of the defenseless woman, faithful and subordinate to her husband. She is the example of the perfect wife and mother. In the Ramayana, she experiences terrible torments, such as exile, kidnapping, ordeal, without ever jeopardizing her purity and exclusive dedication to her husband and family.
