Ramie Textiles: Craftspeople in small hamlets in Betasing

One can find in small hamlets near the farms weavers who are extracting fibers from sun-dried water hyacinth and using the fiber to hand weave and on looms to make products like boxes, bags, mats and such. The officers working with Ramie are working out ways to enhance these products by collaborating with these weavers to incorporate the Ramie fabric in their products and vice-versa.
