Ramie Textiles: Water hyacinth fiber

A small hamlet in South Garo Hills Betasing region has women making fibers out of water hyacinth that grows erratically on nearby water bodies. The district officers of the area have made these women aware of the fiber from the Ramie crop and they want to start utilizing this fiber in the products they make as well.
