The Creator God Ptah grasps the king’s hand and leads him forward. The king and god are the same size, and thus the message is clear: behold two gods. The Egyptians regarded their king as the son of a god who was put on earth to rule Egypt and the rest of the world. The statue is not political propaganda, rather a magic incantation invoking the god to accept the king as his son and the rightful ruler of Egypt.
