In 2013, HSI San Francisco received a request from HSI Rome to assist in the recovery of two antique books stolen from the Italian Historical National Library of Agriculture that had been sold to an American buyer in California. HSI San Francisco special agents met with the Purchaser of the books, who turned them over. HSI returned the books to Italy in February 2015.
